Should I do a master’s or start working? What astrologers look at

The kind of question we see“Final year. Got a decent job offer but I’m also thinking MS in Germany or an MBA in two years. Family is split. What does my chart say?”
Paraphrased from many similar posts on astrology forums.

This is one of those questions where astrology can genuinely help, mostly with timing, and where the practical side matters just as much.

What the chart looks at

  • The 4th house: foundational education and degrees.
  • The 5th house: intelligence, learning and how you absorb knowledge.
  • The 9th house: higher education, advanced study and long-distance travel. A strong 9th house connected to the 12th often shows up in people who study abroad.
  • Jupiter: the main significator of learning and teachers.

Then, as with most questions, the dasha decides when. A period connected to the 9th house or Jupiter tends to favour study. A period connected to the 10th or 6th tends to favour starting work.

“Job now, master’s later” is a real answer

Charts often support both, just not at the same time. A common pattern we see: the current period favours work and earning, and a period two or three years out favours higher study. Taking the job now and planning the master’s for that later window can be the best of both, and you arrive with savings and experience.

The reverse happens too: a strong 9th-house period now that won’t come back for years. Then it can be worth taking the study opportunity while it’s there.

Questions to answer before you ask your chart

  • What job do you want after the master’s, and does it actually require one?
  • Can you fund it without a loan you’ll struggle to repay?
  • Would two years of work make your application stronger, or would you lose momentum?

Astrology works best on top of these answers, not instead of them.

In short

Look at whether your chart supports higher education at all (usually it does), then at which period favours it. That turns an either-or fight with your family into a question of sequence.

Quick answers

Which house is for higher education in astrology?

The 9th house is the main house for higher education. The 4th house shows formal education and the 5th shows learning ability. Jupiter is the significator of knowledge.

Does my chart show study abroad?

Astrologers look for a link between the 9th house of higher learning and the 12th house of foreign lands, and for periods that activate them.

Is it better to work first and study later?

It depends on your chart and goals. Often a chart supports both, in different periods; the dasha shows which comes first.

People also search for this as: “masters karu ya job”, “higher education in kundli”, “ms abroad astrology”, “mba ya naukri”
